Then Colca Canyon with its dramatic scenery, fascinating culture and Andean Condors before crossing the altiplano to Puno and Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world and lake of myths and legends for the Inca and Aymara cultures. Here you spend the night on a private island before heading to Cusco, cradle of the Inca Civilization. Then along the Sacred Valley of the Incas visiting beautiful villages and spectacular ruins until you arrive at the glorious mountain stronghold of Machu Picchu. From here onto the Galapagos Islands where you have 8 days cruising between the islands experiencing some of the most spectacular and intimate wildlife experiences on earth.

The best time to visit the Andean region of Peru is from April through October. The peak rainy months in Peru’s Andes are January and February. We particularly like the months of May and October for this combined Peru and Galapagos holiday, as they are usually much quieter than the peak tourist months, but with good weather. These months also coincide with two of our favourite months for Galapagos.
Galapagos itself is truly a year round destinations thanks to their location on the equator. Each month in Galapagos has its own special highlights as you will see from the information below.
