About Macaw Hostel

A new family run hostal, which is cozy and comfortable and gives a feeling of staying with a local family, but with plenty of private areas in which to relax including a terrace with lots of hammocks. The rooms are simple, but comfortable. The hostal owners have worked in tourism for many years and speak good English.

Rooms

13 standard rooms with private bathroom, hot water, air conditioning and hair driers. Rooms include, twin beds, kingsized bed or triples.

Food & Drink

The price includes MACAW breakfast which includes tea, Galapagos organic coffee, milk, yogurt, cereals, fresh fruit, bread, butter and jam and the local green banana cake and eggs. They can also prepare typical food from the coast for other meals on request.

Activities

If you have time, a guided city tour of Guayaquil, Ecuador’s steamy tropical commercial capital is well worth it, with some interesting history. For nature lovers, a visit to the city’s Parque Historico is a must, an animal refuge which houses rescued wild animals and birds from Ecuador’s coastal forest regions.
