When I received the feedback below from recent guests of ours who travelled to the Amazon and the Galapagos on honeymoon, I just had to share it. The email brought tears to my eyes. It encapsulates exactly why I love doing my job and I feel very lucky to be able to share these amazing places with people from all over the world.
For lots of our guests, a trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands is genuinely life changing. It can act as a real awakening to our amazing world and our place as humans in it – and reinforce our duty of care to try and protect it.

“Dear Rachel & Think Galapagos team,
We just arrived home after our wonderful honeymoon in Ecuador and we want to let you know how grateful we are for this incredible experience. This has been the adventure of a lifetime for both of us, the best trip ever.
We cannot stop thinking about the extraordinary experiences we had there. There have been many moments when Carlotta cried of happiness, taking in the beauty and uniqueness of the places she was seeing for the first time. Every destination has been special and magical in its own way.
Both the Galapagos and the Amazon rainforest allowed us to immerse ourselves in nature and to come into close contact with wildlife. We really enjoyed the Cruise (our first!) in the Galapagos, and swimming with fish, sharks, penguins and sea lions has been unforgettable. In the case of Carlotta, she has always been afraid of sharks, but swimming next one turned out to be her favourite moment from this holiday.
The Amazon rainforest has definitely been the most adventurous part of this trip. We loved canoeing down the river, seeing caimans, monkeys, toucans, tarantulas – to mention but a few – and visiting the Yasuní, with the highest diversity of plant species in the world. A highlight was our visit to the Sani Warmi community, and spending time with our guide.
At a time when all ecosystems are being destroyed by the climate crisis, visiting Ecuador allowed us to witness extraordinary biodiversity and experience what our planet can be when it is fiercely protected, healthy, and thriving. This, in particular, has been life changing. After talking with our local guides, we understood the efforts and struggle to safeguard the Galapagos from the impacts of tourism and the Amazon from oil extraction. We are coming home from this adventure even more determined to protect this country and the planet.
Thank you so much for making this trip happen! From the planning of the itinerary to the organisation and the travel logistics, everything went perfectly smoothly. All our guides have been kind and knowledgeable, and the places you recommended took our breath away. The people we met were fantastic and we felt very looked after. We will recommend Think Galapagos to everyone we know. A huge, heartfelt thank you from both of us!”
