I would like you to know JUST how impressed we were with the trip you organised for us, the staff and guides who met us and guided us. We loved the hotels you chose for us and really wanted to say you did a truly amazing job. Your people in Ecuador were a delight – SO helpful. We were never at a loss to know what to do next as there was ALWAYS someone there to help – in hotels and at the Airports [of which there were many! We loved the hotel you chose for us in Panama. So all round a gold star and 10 out of 10!!
Rachel and Martin Gerrard, Galaxy and La Selva, March 2013
Thank you so much for organising such a fantastic itinerary for us - the whole adventure was incredible. Everything went to plan with no hiccups. Santiago (guide in Quito) and Collette (guide on santa cruz) were both fantastic and such lovely people! Again thanks for all your expertise - a holiday that was beyond our wildest dreams!
Peter and Paula Cooper, Galaxy & Napo Wildlife Centre, March 2013
Thank you for your immaculate and expert planning! The Galapagos, of course, more than lived up to my expectations - and we did get to snorkel with penguins - and sealions, and cormorants, and seals, and sharks and turtles, and much more. I especially loved Fernandina and the coast of Isabela opposite where we watched Killer Whales hunting and were surrounded, as we swam in the freezing water, by several dozen penguins rocketing back and forth along the vertical rock walls, weaving among us like streaks of blue lightning. As for the 'Cormorant' - it was just the most beautiful, opulent, luxurious boat I have ever been on, or indeed seen. Delightful crew, wonderful food and a first rate, knowledgeable and very organised naturalist/guide. Can't rate the whole experience too highly!
Voirrey and Martin Heath, Cormorant, February 2013
We had a great time in Ecuador and the Galapagos, the lodge in Mindo was great and Mike the guy there really helpful and pleasant. Zuleta was great, a beautiful house and surroundings. The boat was fine our guide Daniel was excellent. The wild life brilliant and abundant so all in all a holiday to remember.
Jane and Tony Doyle, Zuleta, El Monte and Samba, February 2013
Thank you for arranging our trip, if anything it was even better than last years and I did not think I would be able to say that before I left. The midwives within the community, and their families were so accomodating and happy to speak with us. Javier, our guide was fantastic, he was so helpful when we visited the families in the community, and our daily trips to see wildlife he proved very knowledgable and keen to make sure we saw everything, which included a Giant Anteater! The hotel in Quito was perfect and when I return to it will always be my first choice. It felt more like being at home than in a hotel. The Angelito was good and we enjoyed our time onboard, and the crew made sure we had the best possible chances of seeing Orca's and a whale by sailing in circles. The service from everyone, starting with booking the holiday to our flight home provided a level of service that is exceptional and very rarely encountered. Jill is already planning how she can afford to make a return visit and I am always more than willing to go with her! Thank you once again for the amazing experience.
Mary Plummer, Sani Lodge, Special Community Stay and Angelito, February 2013
We were very pleased with the trip. The arrangements were all smooth and the accommodation was to a very high standard. We saw all that we could have hoped to see - except whales! We had a really good time and would recommend your services to anyone else planning to make a similar trip.
Clare and Oliver Ramsden, Galaxy, February 2013
We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our trip in Ecuador, which you arranged. All the arrangements worked well and we had a great time in Quito staying at the lovely Casa Aliso, at El Monte and on board Angelito. It was everything we'd hoped it would be and you can't say that very often. We will be recommending you very highly to anyone else who expresses the slightest interest in going to Ecuador.
Ian Bowns, Angelito, Quito and Cloud forest, January 2013
A huge thank you for everything! The nine days in Galapagos were absolutely superb. We loved the Galapagos Suites hotel and I have to say it's one of the nicest small hotels I've ever stayed in. Nothing could have been improved upon! From the moment we boarded the Angelito we felt totally at home but at the same time, very spoilt! Maya was a fantastic guide, the crew were wonderful, the food was amazing and nothing was any trouble for any of the crew. We saw all that we hoped for and more, including a just-born sealion and turtle in her nest. Anyone looking for an outstandingly well-organised, informative, nature-loving, friendly and remarkable holiday should look no further than here!
Kathy Warren-Wilson, Angelito & Santa Cruz Island, January 2013
It's difficult to describe how amazing the trip was, it almost seems like a dream, except we have the photos and a few souvenirs that prove it was real. We've got many memories that will stay with us forever like: - swimming with the fur seals and the green sea turtles, - seeing the giant tortoises up close and even one hatching. The boat whilst being cosy, allowed for a family like atmosphere, with the crew being extremely helpful, friendly and always on hand for whatever we needed. All in all a fantastic holiday, that was brilliantly paced to allow you time to absorb it all. Having Santiago on hand to explain what we were seeing, definitely enhances the experience. Santiago's knowledge, enthusiasm and patience, enabled us to see as much as was possible but yet still do everything that each person on the trip wanted.
Alan & Sam Smewing, Tip Top III Tortoise Special, November 2013
We had a fantastic, wonderful trip; we have so many memories that will last a lifetime. Everything was perfect from the pre trip information to the flight home. It was such a memorable holiday for so many reasons, experiencing the wildlife, contrasts in the islands, Napo Wildlife Centre, Tip Top 111 and not forgetting Santiago and the others in the group (I think Rachel and Santiago handpicked the group) The organisation, content and enjoyment of the trip was much more that we could have ever imagined that it would be. Santiago’s knowledge regarding the islands, history of Ecuador was second to none, tc as how he speaks and tells you about them shows how passionate he is about his country. A special thank you to Santiago for his thoughtfulness and encouragement during the trip, I have a mobility problem and walk with crutches, at no time was I made to feel a hindrance or that was holding up the group. Santiago always ensured I was safe and capable of doing the planned activities, whether it was on land or in the water. The experience we have had has been fantastic and we would not hesitate to book with Think Galapagos again and will recommend it to others. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Carole & Iain McCulloch, Tortoise Special Group, Tip Top III, Nov 2012
We had such an amazing trip and we’re both still buzzing about it! We’ve been on a number of wildlife holidays and our Galapagos trip certainly ranks among the best. People have said that a trip to the Galapagos is “a trip of a lifetime, you only do it once”, but we can’t wait to go back and visit all the places we didn’t get to see. And when we do, we won’t bother looking for ‘deals’ - we’ll head straight back toThinkGalapagos. We couldn’t have been looked after any better, everything was perfectly planned, the accommodation was excellent and the varied itinerary had exactly the right amount of activities and chill time. Santiago was an excellent guide/host and took care of everything - I can’t believe how lucky we were to stumble across ThinkGalapagos on the internet. All I can say is THANKYOU, Santiago and Rachel, for our wonderful trip - it ticked all boxes then added a few more!
Nigel & Sally Sharma, Tortoise Special Group, Tip Top III, Nov 2012
This was a life-enhancing and exhilarating experience. The islands are so special and so unique that it is difficult to pick out any favourite moments but there are some that are worth special mention. The startling curiosity, proximity and diversity of the birds on Genovesa; swimming with the sea turtles on Santiago and the sea-lions at several locations; the elegance of the blue-footed boobies. There are so many other moments: the readiness of the Tip-Top crew to go to any lengths to make things as memorable as possible; the "best birthday present ever" (Margaret's assessment of her first experience of snorkelling with her recently acquired snorkel); the hawks; the Sally Lightfoot crabs; the Frigate birds; the penguins; the mating sea-turtles; the diverse flora ........For me (Hubert), this was the fulfillment of a long held dream, but unlike most dreams, the reality far exceeded the expectation. The organisation was superb and the information and planning par excellence. Santiago, you are so obviously proud of the heritage, and passionate in conveying it, that it is impossible to think of a better guide and mentor to maximise the impact, and extract the most from this experience. We are truly in your debt.
Hubert Curran & Margaret Richardson, Tortoise Special, Tip Top III, Nov 2012
A fabulous and unforgettable trip. We had so many wonderful sightings of the wildlife on the islands that it took my breath away. The programme was varied with something new to astound us with each day. Santiago's attention to detail, the consideration he showed to each member of the group and to their safety was much appreciated and his extensive knowledge enhanced the trip. I would recommend this trip to anyone who wanted to visit the Galapagos.
Monica Kibart, Tortoise Special Group, Tip Top III Nov 2012
Wow what a trip !! The whole experience was amazing, it was a trip of a lifetime. It is difficult to put into words how special the trip was. The organisation from arriving in Guayaquil to being delivered back to travel home was superb. The attention to detail and the stress free arrangements made in advance and by Santiago during the trip ensured we were able to take full advantage of the jaw dropping sights which you managed to deliver day after day, incredible. Tip Top 3 was a great means of travel and accommodation between the Islands. The boat was well equipped and the crew very professional and courteous at all times. The Finch Bay Hotel was great to chill out at for a few days before travelling home. A special thanks to Santiago for his incredible depth of knowledge and enthusiastic method of passing it on. He managed to make every day of the trip a very special and unforgettable experience.
David, Wendy and Lillian Tipton, Tortoise Special Group, Tip Top III, Nov 2012
Thank you for a really fabulous holiday. It all went perfectly. Santiago took charge of everything in Ecuador and things went like clockwork and we couldn’t have had a better guide than Carlos in Galapagos. Tip Top III and her crew really looked after us in the Galapagos. The wildlife that we saw was way beyond our expectations, you really can get close up and personal. After the wildlife in Galapagos, we were ready for some culture and our extension in Peru was excellent. What better place to rest than Colca Lodge lazing in the natural hot pools just feet above the babbling river with Llamas and birds to watch as well. The night we spent on Suasi Island also stands out as a real gem as we were the only guests that night – we had our own private island! Rachel promised that guides would meet us at every step across Peru and that promise was fulfilled everywhere. All our guides were very knowledgeable and spoke very good English. Americo and Edgar (guide and driver) became more like friend in and around Cusco and went out of their way to show us as much as possible and made helpful suggestions about things to do and where to eat on our free days, well beyond their call of duty. Now we are back home we are reliving the experience through our 4,000 photographs and wondering how we can possibly follow that!
Janet & Ian Paterson, Ecuador, Rainforest, Galapagos, Peru November 2012
Thank you for a wonderful trip. Everything went right... Nothing went wrong! Thank goodness I've got pictures and a diary to remind me of the fantastic time - humming birds, penguins, sea lions, boobies, sharks and not forgetting the Orca. The quality of our guides, Daniel and Carlos, was first class. They hardly missed a thing, but when they did, Santiago spotted it. Finally, I was the only one travelling alone, but it didn't feel like it - the rest of the group were great, but whenever I went 'missing' up went the cry from Santiago .."where's John..?" It was the trip of a lifetime. Thank You.
John Wallington, Cloud forest Andes & Galapagos Group Trip, Nov 2012
What a great holiday we had. We are glad we did the extra trip to the Amazon it was well worth it. The rest of the holiday was great, we had a good group who seemed to get on very well and everything went very well. We are so glad we decided to return to Ecuador and going with you was a very wise decision, as especially in the Galapagos we visited sites we had not previously seen. Thank you both very much for a great holiday.
Jan and Den Jarrold, Cloud forest, Andes & Galapagos Group Trip, Nov 2012
Think Galapagos have masterminded a truly memorable holiday! We have just returned from Ecuador where we had the experience of a lifetime in Quito, the Amazon Rainforest and the Galapagos Islands. We are not great explorers, so deciding on Ecuador as a holiday destination was actually quite an adventurous choice for us. We really appreciated the exemplary support of Think Galapagos both before and during the holiday. The recommendations throughout took into account our personal requirements and were well thought through. All arrangements worked seamlessly, without the slightest hitch and most importantly, the people looking after us ‘on the ground’ were, without exception, kind, considerate, knowledgable and efficient. As a result of all this, we were able to relax and concentrate on soaking up the advantages of each location. Casa Aliso Hotel is a gem, run by really caring people who treat you as individuals and who make you feel completely at ‘home’. The Napo Wildlife Centre also set a really high standard and it was very gratifying to know that all profits from the Centre were being ploughed back into the local community. Then there was the Galapagos cruise – wow! This was another world. This is a truly amazing place that everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime. An ‘out of this world’ holiday! Think Galapagos bring on the next one!
Nigel and Lynn Hogg, Grand Odyssey, Napo Wildlife & Casa Aliso October 2012
Words cannot really describe what an amazing time we had. Everything ran like clockwork. As you said, everything would be taken care of and indeed, it was. Every aspect was awe-inspiring, whether it was Peru, the Galapagos or the Rainforest. Every day brought something new. The guides, drivers/Samba crew, local people, places, views, wildlife (both on land, in the air and in the sea), accommodation and cuisine were all brilliant. We feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to see and experience all that we have. So, thankyou so much for your advice and guidance and for your perseverance in formulating the itinerary and making it happen. We loved the Samba….the crew was brilliant and the food amazing. For me, it was even better than last time as I got to see the islands I didn’t visit last time and on the ones I had seen before, the wildlife was more plentiful and/or there were unique sightings like the 10 juvenile Galapagos hawks simultaneously gathered on the beach on Santa Fe and literally 2-3 feet from us or the sealion thrashing around with a tuna it had caught in a bay off Isabela with frigate birds hassling overhead. I cannot thank you and the various teams enough. Your inside knowledge of Ecuador/Peru through personal experience clearly stands you in good stead for trip advice and formulating itineraries and I am so glad that I found you. I felt that you were on my wavelength from the word go.
Yvonne Wilson, Samba, Napo Wildlife Centre & Peru October 2012
Dear Rachel and team, a massive thank you for helping ensure the Galapagos was a holiday of a lifetime. The experience of the Galapagos was so inspirational as well as enjoyable for us all from 14 to 68 years old and everything in between we all got so much out of our time there. From the moment we set foot in Ecuador the experience was amazing. We were met on every occasion by a friendly welcoming face. This was was just the start they were always professional and extremely knowledgeable. Across the 2 weeks we experienced Guayaquil with Emily and met up with William, both accommodating and flexible overcoming challenges when the parks and another attraction were closed swapping our day at the drop of a hat. Martha was great on the Samba as were all the crew. They could not have made us more at home or have been any more helpful if they tried. The food was excellent always fresh and plenty of it!! The sea-life was as amazing as were the animals we encountered on land. At the Darwin Centre Colette was so knowledgeable and once again easy going flexing to fit with our timescales. I did not believe this level of service existed anymore in this day and age. We will certainly be recommending to anyone we meet.
The Anderson & Stevenson Family, Guayaquil, Samba, October 2012
Our most sincere thanks to you for the amazing experience. It was all we had hoped for plus much more. Firstly, thanks to your efficient organisation, the whole trip was entirely stress and trouble free. Everyone in the planned itinerary was there to meet us at the appointed place and time and each one of them was charming, welcoming and most helpful. Casa Aliso, a delightful bijou hotel, where the staff were most pleasant and helpful – extremely comfortable and welcoming after the long flight. The journey to the Napo Wildlife Centre was a thrill in itself, but it almost paled into insignificance when compared to our time spent at the Centre. Once again, excellent accommodation, meals and service from the staff at the lodge and guides who went out of their way to share their knowledge and to ensure we saw as much as possible of the wildlife. Every moment of the Galapagos cruise around the islands went well beyond our expectations. Our naturalist guide, Jamie, was again a great fund of knowledge as well as an excellent raconteur. Finally, the Galapagos Safari Camp! What a wonderful way to finish our holiday! Full marks in every aspect! Superb accommodation, food and hospitality from our host and camp manager. A truly peaceful paradise! So now we are back home and just have some fantastic memories – and photos – to share. Unless, of course, we decide to return sometime. Be assured that even if we do not return we will recommend the trip to others – arranged, of course, by Think Galapagos!!
Pat and Anne Clarey, Napo Wildlife Centre, Ocean Spray & Safari October 2012
Thank you very much again for your dedication to preparing our honeymoon. It was absolutely fantastic! Wherever we arrived, we were welcomed and taken care of by such nice people. Our outbound flight got into Quito with at least 4hrs delay, but the girl picking us up waited and greeted us so friendly. We liked the hotel with its attentive staff and personal touch. The guides were very punctual and accomodative. We had good fun with them... Galapagos was of course the highlight. I think your choice of boat was perfect. It seemed to be the nicest one of them all. Our experience at the Safari Lodge was like a dream as we were the only guests. I shall definitely recommend your services to friends who consider a holiday in the Galapagos.
Konstantin Krebbs, Cormorant & Safari Camp, September 2012
We had an absolutely wonderful time. Thank you so much for arranging such an enjoyable holiday. We have had the good fortune to be able to travel fairly extensively on vacation but of all the destinations we have visited there is no doubt that the Galapagos is right up there with the very best... a truly incredible place. We're already discussing whether we have sufficient leave to allow for another trip back there in 2013 or if it is going to have to be 2014...but, one way or another, I should imagine you'll be hearing from us again! Thank you, once again.
James & Sarah Ashley, Cormorant, August 2012
The holiday was absolutely brilliant...we loved the whole thing...galapagos was amazing and our guide was wonderful... and el mindo was fabulous , such a peaceful place... you were right about the hilton in guyaquil...was great to have one night there and swim in the pool and relax..it all seems like a bit of a dream now kids back at school… it was a fantastic trip... feel i have just scraped the surface of South America and can’t wait to go back.
Tessa Shaw and Family, Samba and El Monte - August 2012
A big big thank you to you and your teams. All our guides were fantastic, knowledgable and enthusiastic. The Andes were breathtaking. My favourite was the Galapagos by far and we have promised ourselves that we will go back at some point to do the Western Islands, as long as we have the same boat and the same crew and the same guide! Thank you once again - it was a trip of a lifetime - although we will definately go back!!
Wareham Family, Beagle, Amazon and Peru - July-August 2012
We had a wonderful honeymoon - many thanks! Everyone at Casa Aliso was very helpful and friendly - the rooms were lovely and we were very impressed by the laundry service - on one occasion back clean and dry in less than 2 hrs! The Galaxy in the Galapagos was comfortable and food was plentiful and even the vegetarian food was interesting (something quite rare abroad!). Lots of wildlife and snorkelling. Napo was also very luxurious and wildlife of a different sort. Gaurav says "best holiday... ever!". We chose Think Galapagos because out of all the companies I contacted during the organising process - you seemed to listen to what we actually wanted, rather than make us fit into existing options.
Dr Samantha Radstone and Gaurav Shemar - Quito, Galaxy, June 2012
Pamela and I would like to say a very BIG thank you for all your help organising our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived in Quito and were greeted by Fatima we felt totally at ease. She was a great guide and her knowledge of the city was very good. Casa Aliso was fantastic - thank you very much for booking this place. It was so nice staying somewhere small and intimate and the staff were great. Having someone at the airport when we flew from Quito to the Galapagos was very useful and a very nice touch. The Galaxy boat was perfect and our guide, Janet, was brilliant. I'm so glad we went for a smaller boat, it really made a difference. The Galapagos truly was an amazing place and I don't think our trip could have been any better. El Monte lodge was amazing and we would never had experienced it if we hadn't booked our trip through Think Galapagos. Once again thanks for your help. It really made us appreciate how important it is to book through a tour specialist when booking something like the Galapagos Islands. We would definitely recommend Think Galapagos to any friends who wish to visit the islands.
Pamela Bently and Davesh Dubal - Galaxy and El Monte, June 2012
In a word-fantastic! I think we saw every creature that the Galapagos has to offer (except whales and the waved albatross)! The itinerary was excellent. The boat was comfortable, well-maintained, charming, and large enough that we never felt cramped or unable to get away from the crowd. The crew was friendly (but not overly so!) and the food wonderful. The Peruvian portion of the trip went equally smoothly. We were met in Lima at the airport and again in Cuzco where we were very pampered and attended to. We had a dedicated driver, van and guide for the entire stay, all excellent. Cusco is not a wealthy city but it seems like a place where family is important and felt comfortable to wander around in. We loved the Sacred Valley. It's gorgeous and the history is fantastic. I admit not knowing much about anything but Machu Picchu going in-our guide Fredy filled in the missing pieces. Not only does he have a degree in tourism, he was formerly a professor in the subject, until he tired of being in the classroom and returned to guiding. He was recognized, and obviously respected, by other guides wherever we went. And the destinations were fantastic. A once in a lifetime trip that we will always remember! Thank you for making it all happen. We couldn't be any happier.
Linda and Jeffrey Stockman and Family - Beagle and Peru, June 2012
Thank you so much for arranging such a wonderful holiday experience to Ecuador and the Galapagos. The organisation was impeccable.
Pamela Barnes - Cloud forest, Andes to Amazon and Galapagos, May 2012
We have only just got our feet on the ground after our wonderful trip with Think Galapagos. From the moment that Daniel met us at 11.30pm at Quito airport until the morning at Guayaquil airport when your guide saw us through the check -in, we were looked after every inch of the way. At Septimo Paraiso we were the only guests and Lorena and staff treated us like royalty. Our stay at Napo was absolutely wonderful . Every day had new highlights. The Galapagos cruise convinced us that this was the trip of a lifetime, with every day bringing a new location and more adventures. We were delighted with Tip Top III and were grateful for the service and support given by all its crew. Thank you Rachel for your help before the trip and Santiago for his caring, calm , and knowledgable leadership.
Eric & Margaret Wheelery - Cloudforest, Andes, Galapagos Group Trip, May 2012
We wanted to let you know that our Galapagos holiday with you was absolutely terrific. We have lots of great memories, some fantastic photos, saw amazing wildlife, enjoyed animal antics - all this coupled with an excellent boat crew and Carlos to look after us on land and on snorkelling trips. Also a special thank-you to the ever-smiling and totally professional Santiago who made sure that everything ran smoothly and made our holiday a total pleasure.
Paul & Maria Crossley - Galapagos Tip Top III Group Trip, May 2012
I would like to thank you both for the outstanding service provided. The holiday was everything I could have wished for and more, from arriving in Quito to leaving Guayaquil. I know everyone on our group had nothing but praise for the service and extra touches provided by both of you. When I spoke with you last September and discussed which trip would provide me with the greatest opportunities to see the birds and animals on my (large) list I never imagined that I would see them all and more. This was going to be a once in a life time holiday however I am determined to repeat this, possibly on more than one occasion. I have described it as feeling as excited as a five year old in a sweet shop! I have never experienced such a high standard of service or the little extra touches and will always use you where possible for future holidays and recommend you to friends and family.
Mary Plummer - Cloudforest, Andes and Galapagos Group Trip, May 2012
Thank you for one of our most memorable holidays ever. Your attention to detail, friendliness and the opportunity to meet up was most reassuring, and that was before we set off! Santiago’s encouraging face and manner and those employed by you to meet and guide us while away, all gave us the confidence to enjoy the wealth of input we received wherever we went. Our memories of the wildlife, smells and sounds of the rain forests and snorkelling with Sea-lions and Marine Iguana in particular will live with us forever. Many thanks to you both and to Santiago for introducing us to his country
Carey and Hilary Morris - Cloud forest, Andes, Galapagos Tip Top III Group Trip, May 2012
The holiday of a lifetime. The time in the Galapagos was absolutely amazing - everything was right - the boat was spacious and the crew v helpful. The food was good and there was certainly plenty and also plenty of variety. Carlos was a very knowledgeable guide and very clear re the days itinery. I loved everything about it including the snorkelling which was amazing. Santiago was marvellous and made sure we all enjoyed ourselves and were also fully informed re the programme and clothing footwear etc. We felt very fortunate to be in such a small group with 2 guides. Peru was also wonderful. The organisation was brilliant - To sum up - what a wonderful holiday - we will certainly be recommending you to family and friends and may even come back at a later date to do the other half of the Galapagos. Thank you both very much.
Jane and David Moll - Cloud forest, Andes, Galapagos and Peru, April 2012
Thank you both for organising a superb holiday which I don't think will ever be bettered in terms of scenery and spectacular wild life.
Ian Birtwistle - Cloudforest, Andes, Galapagos and Peru, April 2012
Thanks for such a wonderful trip. Simply by being in the Galapagos I knew it could be nothing but fantastic. However the organisation, accommodation, food, attention to detail and the brilliant guides added a new dimension altogether. I didn't know lava could be so interesting and varied. We were all so well cared for and looked after by staff, crew and of course Santiago. It really was the most terrific fun and it will be weeks and weeks before I come down.
Freda Guilfoyle - Cloudforest, Andes and Galapagos (Tip Top III) May 2012
We just wanted to drop you a line to say how much we both enjoyed our holiday. It was quite the most memorable one either of us has ever taken. Santiago worked so hard for all of us. We can't praise him and his chosen team highly enough. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble, whenever a plan was scuppered another one was neatly slotted in and we can quite see that "Think Galapagos" will go from strength to strength, hopefully without losing the personal touch which you both provide. With very many thanks and congratulations to you both for organising such a wonderful adventure, we may come again!!
James McKosh and Diana Moody
We are back from our holiday in Ecuador and the Galapagos, we all had a fantastic time, it was so different with the spectacular scenery, birds, animals and wildlife. Santiago was brilliant in every way, organising so much and making sure everyone had a the best holiday, and attention to detail was superb, always concerned about our safety and health. The food, transport and organisation could not have been better, so much variety every day. The local guides Daniel and Carlos were also fantastic, so much enthusiasm and commitment, I will be recommending Think Galapagos to all my friends. Thanks again and hopefully I will book another trip with you soon.
Carol Smith - Cloudforest, Andes and Galapagos (Tip Top III) May 2012
Just to say big thank you to you and Santiago for the superb, meticulous organization for this recent holiday. Great accommodation, super food and excellent guides…..It was a wonderful total experience which shall stay in my memory forever.
Margaret Crisp - Cloudforest, Andes and Galapagos (Tip Top III) May 2012
Dear Rachel, I just wanted to let you know what a fabulous trip we had. Thank you so much for organising it all for us. Each of the three parts exceeded our expectations, so I cannot even start to enumerate all the things that were good. You offered us great locations, and appointed very good guides who looked after us well. This was a very special holiday for us all, and we are most grateful for your knowledge and care.
The Wood Family - Cachalote, Napo Wildlife Centre, Zuleta April 2012
Thank you Rachel and Santiago for organising such a diverse and pleasurable holiday. Your excellent planning and attention to detail added to our enjoyment. Highlights of the holidays included seeing the giant tortoises on Santa Cruz island, experiencing first hand the natural and marine environment of the Galapagos islands, the welcome we received from everyone at Hacienda Zuleta and our first attempt at horse riding high up in the Andes!
Theresa and Mike Rogerson - Galaxy, Finch Bay and Zuleta April 2012
Thank you Rachel and Santiago for truly memorable holiday in Ecuador. In the three weeks we spent there, we experienced the real flavour of this amazing country. The hotels were superb and all of the staff were concerned to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The food was delicious and the range of organic fruits and vegetables were an education in themselves. We have so many wonderful memories such as the humming birds, the Avenue of Volcanoes, the roses and orchids, the spas and haciendas and, of course, the Galapagos. The Galaxy was a superb base and offered relaxed opulence from which to explore the unique landscapes, flora and fauna of these magical islands. The experinces of swimming with sharks, rays, moray eels, seal ions and pods of turtles will never be forgotten. All of our guides were first class and brought the culture, wildlife and history to life, as well as ensuring that we enjoyed our holiday without a single hitch. Well done and thank you
Joan & John Bate - Galaxy, Finch Bay, Zuleta / Avenue of Volcanoes, April 2012
Dear Rachel & Santiago, we would like to thank you for organising such a wonderful holiday for us in Ecuador. The organisation was excellent and we were extremely well looked after by our guides Juan Carlos Narvaez and Norby Lopez, who were both very good company as well as a fund of natural history information. The range of wildlife that we saw exceeded our expectations and it is going to take some time to sort out the c4500 photos. The food and accommodation was excellent and our only complaint is that we couldn't spend longer at some of the lodges. We would certainly visit Ecuador again if the opportunity arose. We have emailed Juan Carlos and Norby personally to express our appreciation but could you also pass on our thanks to Rene Torres at your partners Amazanga Expeditions for his local organisation.
Wilf & Julia Powell - Mainland Ecuador, birding and butterflies, February 2012
"I would like to thank you for your excellent organisation and recommendations . I don’t think we could have done better. We had excellent guides in both the Amazon and Galapagos ( Juanito aka Juan Tapia asked to be remembered to Santiago) and Danny at Napo was a fount of knowledge and more importantly enthusiasm. The Guatemal’s were charming and Zuleta was out of this world."
Frances and Bob Soutter, Cachalote, Napo Wildlife Centre / Zuleta, February 2012
"Thanks for the excellent itinerary you arranged for us. My husband and I are both biologists and had planned to visit Galapagos for many years. Your suggestion to link it with a visit to the Napo Wildlife Centre in the Amazon Basin was a brilliant add on. The Napo Centre exceeded expectations – everything about it was first class. The Samba lived up to what we had read about it. The age range was 21 to 67, we were all like -minded and we all got on and made many new friends from all over the world. The Samba’s route seemed to ensure we saw very few other boats and had the islands to ourselves on excursions. Each day usually included an early morning and late afternoon expedition, two snorkeling sessions, happy hour watching the glorious sunsets and cards after dinner. The naturalist guide was very good, the crew were friendly and the food was first rate. We must also thank you for the support you gave us when our luggage didn’t make it with us to Quito! Managing to get it to us at Napo was a considerable achievement and indicative of the personal treatment and the advantage of using a small company that really look after their customers. Thank you again for organizing the most amazing trip of a lifetime for us that managed to exceed our expectations."
Diane and Keith Gillett - Samba, January 2012
"Wow wow wow!!! What a trip!... a massive thank you for all the help and advice given for what was truly the trip of a lifetime. From the moment we landed in Quito to our arrival back in Guayaquil the arrangements couldn't have been better. Casa Aliso was lovely and the staff so friendly & helpful. Santiago our guide in Quito was very solicitous and knowledgeable. El Monte was a great experience and, again, the hospitality was wonderful. Angelito was just perfect!. The crew couldn't have been more friendly and caring and as for the guide Maja - she was absolutely marvellous, so knowledgeable and with such a passion for the islands, she made the whole experience so special. As you promised, the age range and different nationalities of the passengers suited us both (It was rather nice being the only English people on board!). We will certainly recommend Think Galapagos to all our friends & family. We didn't think our trip could possibly live up to our expectations but it definitely did - and then some!. We would love to go back again one day!!"
Katy and Linda Scase - Angelito - January 2012
"Right from arriving in Quito with such a friendly and encouraging welcome, I experienced the most fantastic voyage of a lifetime. From Cloud forest through to Avenue of Volcanoes, which was spectacular to arriving on the Galapagos Islands. To walk with and amoungst the wildlife was unbelievable. Wet and dry landings, Carols our guide so enthusiastic – and, of course, to have Santiago as our ultimate guide and mentor was a great comfort and pleasure. The whole experience is a memory never to be forgotten."
Patsy Huddy - Tip Top III, Cloudforest - Andes and Galapagos, Nov 2011
"This was a holiday of a lifetime and so it proved to be. The pre-trip organisation was very good, Rachel answered all our questions and gave excellent advice. The organisation of the holiday was again excellent, the places visited in Ecuador were varied and interesting and the guide and coach drivers very knowledgable. The Galapagos part of the holiday, Tip Top III, Carlos and the whole organisation was brilliant. We enjoyed every minute."
Daphne and Robert Clay - Cloud forest, Andes and Galapagos - November 2011
"Rachel and Santiago produced a visit that would be difficult to eclipse, simply wonderful! In Peru all accommodation excellent and some outstanding. Americano brilliant guide and grace very good, supremely organised and could not be faulted. In Ecuador also outstanding and hard to fault. Organised like clockwork and in Galapagos even better than our high expectations, Carlos and Tip Top were brilliant. Program perfect – I would do it again."
Winston and Isabel Peters - Cloud forest, Andes and Galapagos - November 2011
"Thankyou for arranging a fantastic holiday for us. Our time in Ecuador and the Galapagos was absolutely wonderful. All the various meetings scheduled with guides, hotels etc went to plan which impressed us immensely. Our main guide who looked after us in Quito and who took us through the valley of the volcanoes etc, Andres Pepinos, was one hundred percent. He really was the perfect guide."
Graham Bates - Galaxy - November 2011
"Thank you so much for your superb organisation and Santiago for your wonderful guiding of us around the Galapagos and sharing your extensive knowledge and love of the islands with us. We would like to mention Fernando in paticular who was an excellent guide and driver on our trip to the Cloud forest. We were particularly grateful to Rachel for her inspired recommendations of where to visit and stay and ach one was a wonderful experience. All our travel arrangement were very well planned and everything went exceptionally smoothly and without a hitch."
Janet and Tony Cross - Tortoise Special Group trip - Tip Top III, November 2011
"I would like to thank you both for a very well organised and amazing holiday. The natural beauty of the country speaks for itself and the uniqueness of the Galapagos Islands is well documented. It is the caring way we were looked after, the choice of locations that you made, the expertise of the additional guides and the professionalism of the boat crew that enhanced the whole experience. The enthusiam and joy that you projected throughout the trip, Santiago, was contagious. "
Val Bauld - Cloudforest, Andes /Galapagos Group, Tip Top III November 2011
"We just wanted to let you know what a truly fabulous time we have had. On a scale of 1 to 10 it figures about 15! The Galaxy was superb and we ended up with a room on the upper deck, keeping Steve and Evelyn company, so not sure how you managed that either! The Galapagos Isles were awe inspiring and I have so many photos I could supply National Geographic, but that is another story. Louis was wonderful and looked after us very well. We were so pleased we added on those few extra days in Ecuador. Indeed we wish we had stayed on a few more days so many we shall have to go back!"
Andrea Luck and Tony Neilan, Galaxy - November 2011
"We had a wonderful holiday, no hitches, the guide and drivers were excellent and we saw and experienced everything that the brochures and booklets suggested we might – we even saw a spectacled bear in Zuleta… The boat was great and thanks for securing such a good cabin – the staff were excellent."
Steve Walker and Evelyn, Galaxy - November 2011
"This was a trip of a lifetime made even more special with the accommodation on the Mary Anne. A well planned itinerary with something new or exceptional each day…. Thank you Santiago for such a wonderful holiday. I have so many happy memories."

"We have so many good memories of the trip, especially the time spent in Galapagos. Very much appreciated the flexibility of arrangements which Santiago made possible, particularly in accommodating the different interests of the group."
David Goodsell - Nov - Cloudforest, Andes and Galapagos Group Trip Tip Top III
"We had a fantastic time on the trip and are so glad that we took Noel Mitchell's advice and booked our trip with you and Santiago. You all did a great job both with pre-trip arrangements and information and with the actual trip itself. We enjoyed the interaction with the UK travelers. In fact it was probably the best group of fellow travelers that we've ever encountered. The folks that you contracted with in Quito to handle the airport transfers and city tour also did an excellent job. The Bellavista experience was excellent. Luis, who took us to Bellavista via the Yanacocha Reserve, was a wonderful guide. I especially enjoyed the snorkeling on the Galapagos portion of the journey!! I had only experienced this once before, but became hooked after the first day we snorkeled on the trip. What a fantastic world under the water."
Jim and Marianne Skeen, Tortoise Special Group Trip – Tip Top III, October 2011
"Everything in Ecuador is exceeding expectations. We had a fantastic time in the Galapagos, the boat was great, crew and guide superb. Land and Sealife out of this world. Couldn't have asked for more. Also had a brilliant time at NapoWildlife Centre. Can't thank you enough for arranging the Samba for us and for all your other tips."
Karen Smiles and Stuart Cook, Samba - October 2011
"Dear Rachel and Santiago, This is just to let you know we thought the organisation of our recent holiday was excellent. We will certainly recommend Think Galapagos to all our contacts. Please accept our unqualified thanks for doing such an excellent job for us."
David Pollock, Cachalote, October 2011
"Thank you for all your help in planning what was a perfect honeymoon. We had an absolutely fabulous trip! The Beagle was just what we wanted and the hotels in Guayaquil and Santa Cruz and Quito were all so luxurious and great service and food. Special mention to Casa Aliso who were incredibly helpful."
Fuzzy Barker, Beagle October 2011
"Thank you to THINK GALAPAGOS and especially to Rachel for organising a fantastic trip to Peru and Ecuador. Rachel put together a great schedule for me, including Machu Picchu, the rain forest, horse riding in the Andes and the Galapagos. Everything was extremely well organised; I was met at the airports, the accommodation was in wonderful boutique hotels and the recommendations and attention to detail superb. I would certainly recommend THINK GALAPAGOS and can only say thank you for a wonderful month!"
Kirstin Eriksson, Beagle October 2011
"We had a fantastic time both in Quito and Galapagos. Your plan worked out perfectly and especially the trip on the Beagle was amazing. We could not have been on a more perfectly suited boat. The guide Lourdes was great fun and very knowledgable and managed to take us to places where we were mainly on our own - so in a way we had quite a private Galapagos experience. The highlight for me, as Santiago suggested was Espanola with an enormous variety of wildlife and the Albatros colony. We probably saw every species you can see in the Archipelago including Penguins and Flamingoes even though we only toured for 8 days. It was an unforgettable experience for both of us and I am now working my way through 2000+ photographs."
Michael Schupp, Beagle October 2011
"We had a wonderful honeymoon. The transfers were slick and we were very well looked after by all our hosts. Onboard the Beagle the crew were just brilliant. The chef was fantastic, producing a wide variety of very tasty meals… Our guide was fantastic, with 20 years experience of guiding in the Galapagos she could answer any question we threw at her. The tours around the islands were excellent and well paced, as were the snorkel trips. On the main island of Santa Cruz the host of the guest house was really welcoming, providing a beautiful display of pink and red flowers on our bedspread and delicious bottle of wine to celebrate our honeymoon. I really enjoyed the dives, I've done a bit of diving (80 dives all over the place), and Scuba Iguana were one of the most professional commercial outfits I've dived with. On our return to Quito we really loved Casa Aliso, with its attention to detail, homemade cakes at teatime and log fire, very luxurious."
Rachel Lenane and Graham Young, Beagle September 2011
"My time in Ecuador was great! Thank-you. The Angelito cruise was amazing. We had a very nice group of people, crew and the food and services on board were really good. Our tour guide, Fabian Ramirez, made the difference though. He was very passionate about the islands and their protection and he made sure we had an amazing 8 days on board. He was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and he managed to show us almost every animal on Galapagos. Thank-you very much for arranging everything! I had an amazing holiday this summer."
Zara Reevely, Angelito – August 2011
"In one word FANTASTIC! Thanks so much for putting together a really varied and interesting programme. The hotels you selected were all absolutely superb - especially Casa Alisa which manages to combine a feeling of luxury with a really friendly welcome. El Relicario del Carmen is also beautiful as was San Pedro in Riobamba - a haven of peace. It was great to stay in a range of different places - from the community in San Clemente to the hacienda at the end. Our week on The Beagle was fabulous. Our guide (Daniel) was extremely knowledgeable about everything - geology, flora, animals and marine life - I don't think we had a single question he couldn't answer! Food on the boat was great, and service fantastic. We were really pleased to be on a small boat as it really made our time on each island special, with only a few of us there. I know I don't need to tell you how amazing the animals were - we saw so much!"
Marian Gough and family, Beagle – July 2011
"GREAT TRIP… thanks. We loved every moment… the boat was good, the crew terrific… food aboard excellent… we saw everything we needed and expected to see and then some! We could not have asked for a better trip."
Alice Pearson, Beagle June 2011
"...a huge thanks’ from us both for such a wonderful trip… I brought back some great photos and some even better memories. The hawks, the snorkeling and life on Tip Top III being the stand out highlights for me personally. Another thing that stood out for us both and in fact what made the trip so special was our fellow traveler’s. It was a great mix of people who appeared to get on amazingly well together."
Bob and Peggy Johnson, Tip Top III, May 2011
"Our trip was just fabulous. Galapagos was everything we hoped for and more and your part in making that possible was significant. I have already told many people how pleased we were with the service we received and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone considering going to the Galapagos. The Beagle was great and all the passenger thought she was the best looking yacht we saw. The food was out of this world. We all agreed that if Pedro our Chef had a restaurant, we’d all be regular customers."
Barbara and Paul Criddle, Beagle May 2011
"There is so much to admire in your company that it is hard to know where to start. Your organisation was meticulous; the pre-holiday preparation was helpful and accurate, but even it was surpassed by the care given to every detail of the time actually spent in Ecuador. You have an excellent team on the ground there, from escorts to the bus driver and local guides."
Alison and George McConnell, Andes to Amazon May 2011
"Thank you for a lovely holiday. We enjoyed it very much, even more than anticipated…. The boat and the islands were fabulous….the hotels and restaurants (in Peru) were all very good, especially in Auguas Calientes, Machu Picchu is amazing. The guides were all excellent – very informative and good company."
Barbara and Andrew Ferrier, Tip Top III and Peru, May 2011
"Marvellous throughout. All the transfers etc, worked like clockwork! Excellent knowledge of local guides and Santiago always willing and able to expand in answers to questions. All accommodation, food and travel arrangements were excellent. Particular praise for staff at Hotel Casa Aliso in Quito for the extraordinary assistance they gave us."

Haim Hillel. Mary Anne – May 2011
"Thank you for helping me plan one of the best holidays I have ever been on :) I had a fabulous time and so did my mum. Everything was perfect! The boat, the animals, the place, the people... everything was great!! Jaime was a brilliant naturalist and made the experience that much better. Everything in Guayaquil was also perfect. Needless to say I will be highly recommending Think Galapagos to make anyone's Galapagos dreams come true."
Tanya Ahuwalia Galaxy – May 2011
"I had a wonderful trip, thanks mainly to all your organisation. You did exactly what I asked, ie removed all the effort out of traveling and ensured that we saw as much of Ecuador that our short time allowed. I enjoyed every minute of it and the guides were great especially Jaimie Nava and Andreas on our last day. The boat was spacious and clean, I also felt that the staff were all great. The food also is worth a mention as it was very good and plenty of it! As for the Galapagos - what can I say, fantastic is just an inadequate word to describe it. Thanks again for all your hard work."
Sara Templeton Galaxy – May 2011
"Having waited for over 50 years to go to the Galapagos I wanted someone who actually knew what they were talking about and I could ask questions. You were superb! My ideal was a small number on the boat, a guide who knew his subject and to visit as many islands as possible. The Beagle came up trumps! Daniel Sanchez, our guide, was superb….The boat, the crew, the panga trips, the walks everything was expertly structured, always something to do, if you wanted to, and we all did everything! Our three days in the Cloud Forest based at the Satchatiama Lodge were equally rewarding all the better for the expert guiding provided by Santiago Salazar who was with us at the lodge all the time. Those humming birds - pure magic! Would we go again? You bet, but only with Think Galapagos!"
Chris Wilkes – The Beagle April 2011
"Everything was wonderful. Hacienda Zuleta was everything I was expecting and more - a true home from home, with wonderful people (and dogs!) The staff at Casa Aliso were adorable and just couldn't do enough for us. Our guides were lovely, and the Galapagos was, literally, a dream come true… your service was excellent throughout and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you."
Vicky Goode – Samba April 2011
"The holiday was a great success. I enjoyed everything and appreciated your meticulous organisation and attention to detail. The cruise part of the trip was just as you had said it would be. The cabin was large and well equipped, the boat was spotless, the food was very good, the crew were helpful and friendly and the naturalist was highly qualified and informative. Your recommendation of the Galaxy could not have been bettered. As you predicted I fell in love with Zuleta and I loved the Quito hotel. The rooms were beautiful, the decor was elegant, the breakfasts were good and the staff were really nice. All in all a wonderful holiday. I shall recommend you to friends."
Jo Haythornthwaite – Galaxy March 2011
"The Galapagos portion you arranged turned out perfect ! The weather was perfect, lots of animals, great boat with great food and service. It really was perfect. I would recommend that everyone does the safari camp. It is a unique experience that shouldn't be missed. Thanks again for everything."
Rich Kratze - Athala February 2011
"We have arrived safely back after a truly wonderful time. We just wanted to say thank you as the trip suited us perfectly. The boat/crew were fantastic, the sights seen were out of this world. The fact that transfers etc had all been taken care of took all the hassle away. Semilla Verde was outstanding. You did really well with this one! The drivers used were fantastic. Altogether a brilliant experience of a lifetime. We would be happy to recommend your services and when we save up again maybe return to see the birds of Ecuador. We wouldn't normally write thanking but with this being a dream of 10years in the making I just wanted to let you know how well it went and how we appreciated your time, even down to Santiago ringing at 11.15 at night trying to resolve/make contact when we had trouble with the flights!!"
Robert and Cathy King – Angelito February 2011
"The Galapagos Islands were fantastic, when we arrived at the jetty for our ride to the Athala we couldn’t use the main steps as they had been commandeered by about a dozen Sea Lions!! and from then on we had amazingly close encounters with more Sea lions, Iguanas, Sea Turtles, Blue Footed Boobies, Frigate birds, Albatross, Giant Tortoises, even a Woodpecker Finch using a stick to get a grub out of a tree trunk and many more encounters too numerous to mention. It was like being in the middle of a TV wildlife show. Our whole experience was faultless. All in all it was the holiday of a lifetime, unless we decide to go again! Thanks for all your help."
Chris and Deborah Newton – Athala January 2011
"Thanks very much for arranging our trip. Your advice was really appreciated - both what you told us about the Galapagos - but also your more general advice on travelling in Ecuador. Our trip on the Sagitta was superb. The boat was a perfect size, well looked after and well run by the attentive crew. I'd recommend the boat to anyone who wants to see the Islands but doesn't like the idea of a 'cruise ship' - although it was very comfortable, the focus was clearly the wildlife and not the entertainment. Most importantly, the crew and guide took genuine and constant care not to disrupt the ecosystem. The Angermeyer operation was also extremely slick and accommodating."
Robert Green – Sagitta January 2011
"Many thanks for an unforgettable experience. The Athala crew were cheerful and efficient. The food was excellent and the cabin very comfortable. The abundance of wildlife was amazing, with new delights every day. Swimming with the sea lions and turtles made the trip just perfect. "
Chris and Sylvia Harvey – Athala 2010
"We had an absolutely fantastic time in Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. The arrangements were perfect and we were looked after extremely well everywhere. We would like to thank you for putting together an extremely well thought out itinerary. Although we took just over 2 weeks off work, we seemed to fit a huge amount into our schedule, without finding we were too pushed. The Sagitta was an excellent choice of boat. Luis, our guide was first class. His knowledge of the natural history and geology was amazing and he was full of amusing stories over dinner. We were also delighted that you advised us to go to Hacienda Zuleta. Although we only spent one night there it was a memorable experience and we saw a wild condor while out horse riding. Equally the visit to the Napo Wildlife Centre was wonderful. The journey itself by motor canoe and paddled canoe was enthralling and our time there was filled with activity. Thank you so much for organising a “once in a lifetime holiday”. We have been encouraging many of our friends to consider visiting Ecuador and the Galapagos and we have recommended them all to book through you."
John Call and Susan Harding – Sagitta 2010
"Trip of a lifetime. Well organized, greeted at airport and looked after from there on. Hotel in Quito was like staying in your own house with someone looking after you! Safari camp again made very welcome, very relaxing. Dive company good fun. Seaman II route fabulous, didn’t see another boat or person for 3 days. Guide very good. Amazon Basin, accommodation and guide exllent – amazing to be staying in the middle of the jungle!"
Jane and Chris Hamp – Seaman 2010
"I cannot thank you enough for helping me to organise this trip. Everything was above my expectations. The Sagitta is beautiful, the crew were very hospitable and with Alejandro Villa as our guide, we couldn't have been in better hands. The whole experience was amazing and I'd like to visit again in the wet season to see what it is like, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Think Galapagos and in fact I'm already telling all my friends."
